Launched into the market back in 2013, the T46681 watch is still a popular choice.
It is loved by first time buyers and collectors as well.
It gets good vibes in regards to solidity, durability, accuracy, reliability, and elegance. However, is it relay worth buying?
This Timex T46681 review should help us get the right answer.
- Adjustable brown 20mm genuine leather strap fits up to 8-inch wrist circumference.Special feature: Chronograph
- Cream dial with date window at 3 o'clock; full Arabic numerals
- Silver-tone 40mm brass case with mineral glass crystal
Rugged but Stylish Brass Case
We are used to stainless steel case as the common material.
This piece, however, takes a different direction. It comes with brass, which is also known for being durable and tough.
The watch should, therefore, be able to put up with the daily demands. It features a polished/ brushed surface and looks somewhat bulky.
It measures 40 millimeters in diameter, and we can say that it’s nether neither too large nor too small.
The case thickness of 10mm is average just like the watch’s overall weight of about 2.24 ounces.
It looks rugged and suited for the outdoors.
Traditionally Styled Brown Calfskin Band
One thing many people admire the watch for is the classic appeal.
It has a bold look and is analog. To farther improve this effect, it comes with a tough-looking leather band.
It looks nice against the shiny case and white dial.
The piece is flexible for easy wearing, removal, and lightweight at the same time.
And although it may have a rough appearance, it does feel smooth to the skin.
The band has a practical width of 20millimeters, which is similar to most pieces out there. The length of 8 inches ought to work well on different wrists.
It is secured by a simple brass buckle clasp and comes with fine stitching on the edges to complete the traditional look.
Clear Bold White Dial
The white dial gives the watch a sort of pristine appeal.
The background color is very close to the polished silver case, bezel, and crown. The hr indices come in large Arabic numbers for good visibility.
In the inner circumference, you also find the Arabic numerals but this time they are smaller and in 24-hour format. For better viewing, the numbers, both 12 and 24-hour are in black.
At the 12 o’clock point, a white circle/dot illuminates at night.
Like many watches, there is a simple but nice looking day/date window next to the 3 o’clock market. It also has a white background but with a black borderline.
The number and days are in black.
Other notable features include the Timex Expedition names, all in bold and beneath the 12 o’clock mark, and the Indiglo, WR100M slightly above 6 o’clock point.
Clear Mineral Crystal
The white dial, bold hands, and other parts are protected by a minerals crystal glass.
It comes in a round shape just like the case and merges nicely with the silver bezel. The wide nature of the bezel makes the crystal appear small.
However, it’s still very clear. You will also note the 10-minute intervals on the bezel.
The clear nature of the mineral makes time viewing easy.
It also does not suffer from glare and this suits it for the bright sunny outdoors or brilliant indoor lighting.
The material can get scuffs or scratches and it is important you handle the timepiece with care.
Our Verdict
This watch does look nice and elegant. It has a nice white dial that looks amazing.
It features a silver polished case, bezel, and band. The strap is made of tough leather and has good flexibility. We also acknowledge the good visibility of the large numbers as well as nice luminosity.
Buying this watch is certainly a move in the right direction.
