Invicta doesn’t have the most solid reputation as a watch-brand, at least among watch collectors.
They are thought of as a simple Rolex knock-off, and while that is a fair assumption, it doesn’t make it a bad brand.
Let’s face it, while a lot of people would want a Rolex, not everyone can afford it, and if you’re a big watch fan like me, you’ll take whatever can come close.
One of my favorite Rolex models is the Rolex Daytona, it’s a classic race watch with a great look, and since I’m not in a place to afford it, I looked for watches replicate the look.
That’s how I came across the Invicta Speedway line, and the two watches that caught my attention were the Invicta Speedway 9211 and the Invicta Speedway 14381.
These are two o my favorite from the series, and in this article, we put them up against each other in a head to head comparison.
Read on to find out more.
Invicta Speedway 9211 vs Invicta Speedway 14381 – Quick Comparison
Are The Invicta 9211 And 14381 The Same Watch?
First things first, while these two watches are very similar, they are two distinct models, both with their unique characteristics.
But before we start talking about what makes them different, we have to talk about what they have in common.
Case & Dial
One of the first things one would look at when checking out a watch is the dial and case.
After all, these are the most visible parts of the watch.
These two models have very similar cases, with the 9211 case being slightly smaller.
But both cases are made of stainless steel and share a silver-toned finish.
The dial of these two models is also very similar, hosting a white background with silver-toned markers.
They both also have three sub-dials for a chronograph, which is very common with racing watches.
These watches also have a small date window and the Invicta logo present in the dial, all placed very neatly to allow for very easy reading of the watch.
As these are both racing watches, they also have a feature that is essential: a tachymeter bezel.
The bezel on both of these timepieces is very similar to the one seen on the Daytona and gives both of them a very functional and classy look.
Brands that try to create affordable watches inspired by luxury timepiece usually fall-short on the details, which is why they can sometimes have a bad rep.
But Invicta paid close attention to detail with these models, which is why I consider them to be some of the best budget substitutes for the Daytona on the market.
The 9211 and the 14381 have Japanese Quartz movements.
These are some of the most accurate and affordable movements one can get.
However, they aren’t up to the same standards as the Swiss Quartz movements used by the more expensive watches.
This is to be expected, considering how much these watches cost, and the movement, while not the most prestigious out there allows you to keep quality time and use the chronograph without busting the bank.
What Are The Differences Between These Two?
There aren’t too many differences out there, but there are enough to make both of these models unique and one-of-a-kind.
The Differences Lie In The Details
As I mentioned earlier, Invicta paid close attention to detail with these models, which is part of the reason I chose them as my favorites, and it’s also where their differences lie.
On the 9211, the finish on the dial and the case are brighter than of that on the 14381.
This gives it a flashier look, while the 14381 has a more casual feel to it.
On top of that, the 9211 has a darker tone on the sub-dials that gives it some more contrast and can make the watch easier to read.
The 9211 and 14381 both have the words “Professional 200m Speedway” printed below the logo, but it is slightly curved on the 9211, which adds to the texture of the watch.
Conclusion – Which Watch Is Better?
I enjoy the look of the 9211 more.
This is because it seems to have more class, which is what I was looking for when I was scouring the market for an inexpensive substitute to the Daytona.
Either way, these two watches are both great everyday watches that you can get under $150.
And for models that exude the same energy as the Daytona, that’s a great bargain.
Anyone looking for a great everyday racing watch that looks great and packs a punch for a cheap price should definitely put these two pieces on top of their watch list.
