You know what?
From its appearance, the Invicta 8928OB seems to target men who like classy professional watches.
This is evidenced by the bold face, stainless steel construction, tough-looking dial and clasp/ buckle, and simplicity.
However, is it a timepiece that’s worth adorning or spending money on?
In this Invicta 8928OB review, we will find the answer.
- Steel and gold tone stainless steel case 40mm diameter x 14mm thick; Exhibition case back; Blue dial; Luminous hands and hour...
- NH35A Japanese Automatic movement, 24 jewel; Assembled in Malaysia; Watch weight: 152 grams
- Steel and gold tone stainless steel band, 210mm L x 20mm W; Band is adjustable by adding/removing links; Fold over safety clasp
Sleek Vintage Face
One thing that strikes me about the watch is its bold yet classy face.
Unlike most similar watches which feature either a matte black or simple silver dial, this comes in a vibrant royal blue background. The tint of the face changes slightly depending on the lighting and angle of view.
It also complements the silver and gold plated case, band and buckle and should be more noticeable. The watch appears to have borrowed a “leaf” from the Rolex Submariner 116613 in regards to its appearance.
The design doesn’t interfere with the appearance or viewing of the silver hands and Cyclops. This is without-a-doubt a watch that many men wouldn’t mind wearing.
Reliable and Accurate Japanese Automatic Movement
Many people find winding a mechanism or replacing the battery a chore.
But with the 8928OB, you are saved the trouble. It features Japanese Automatic Movement, which according to many consumers, is fairly accurate.
And just as the company claims, this watch only goes off by a few seconds every month. You, therefore, won’t need to regularly calibrate or correct it.
And similar to most top brands, the silver hands move swiftly and it also doesn’t produce any sound.
Stylish Gold & Stainless Steel Bracelet and Case
Invicta went the extra step to make the bracelet not only functional but also classy.
Unlike other options which usually feature a single color, this one has silver and 23k gold tones. This also applies to the 40mm wide and 13mm thick steel case.
On its rear, you find a transparent window that showcases the watches movement. And for a firm fit and to prevent accidentals opening, the wristwatch relies on a 21cm long silver stainless steel fold-over-clasp buckle.
Both the case and bracelet are highly polished to give it an elegant appearance.
Scratch Resistant Mineral Crystal Dial
Having been in the scene since 2011, many men have had the privilege of adorning this watch.
One thing that a majority seems to agree on is the tough mineral crystal dial. It puts up fairly well against abrasion, bangs, stains, knocks and also doesn’t lose it clarity over time.
The tight bonding with the case helps to minimize the possibility of dirt, dust, and moisture from entering the delicate mechanism whereas the smooth and glossy finish improves cleaning.
Good enough luminosity
Luminosity has never been a very strong selling point for Invicta watches. However, this one seems to fair for much better than its stablemates.
The hands feature a fairly bright green glow which is also visible in moderately bright light. This appears to work well with the anti-glare coating on the mineral crystal dial.
Some users nonetheless say that it may be a bit of a struggle to view the watch when in very deep or murky waters.
This Invicta watch feels a little larger than the average men’s wristwatch. It also may not appeal to people who prefer Quartz mechanism or want something very flashy or bold.
Nonetheless, it feels tough, functional, reliable, affordable, and durable and the quality is decent. The Pro Diver 8928OB will without-a-doubt look elegant on any man who wants to look fashionable but still feel manly.
