Fossil has never been known for releasing bad watches. They’ve consistently released functional, stylish, and practical watches ever since the company’s inception.
The company has yet again given us a watch that fuses together functionality and modern design.
The Fossil FS4775 is a timepiece with a sleek black design with white details, and we take a look at this design and more in our Fossil FS4775 review.
It can’t be stressed enough how important accuracy is when dealing with watches.
It’s simply impractical to have a timepiece that can’t do its main job properly, which is to keep accurate time. But that isn’t the case with the FS4775, as it employs the famous and praised Japanese Quartz movement.
This watch movement is incredibly practical as it doesn’t cost too much, but it maintains its accuracy for a very long time.
The only time you have to worry about your watch being late is if the battery runs out, but changing the battery is no hassle at all.
Dial & Crystal
One of the highlights of this watch is its sleek, eye-catching, everyday design. When I first saw the product, I was absolutely enthralled by the dial design.
The completely black background looks good, while also contrasting the white indicators and hands.
This contrast makes reading the watch a breeze, while also looking incredible. Below the 12’oclock position is the Fossil logo, also in white along with a date indicator above the 6’oclock position, which is just as easy to read as the rest of the watch.
A dial of this quality needs quality protection, and the mineral crystal does just that, as it is one of the toughest materials in the world.
The bezel on the FS4775 is stationary, so it doesn’t have the functions you would see on a lot of utility watches.
However, the texture on the stainless steel bezel, along with the black color that matches the watch perfectly truly adds a lot to the product.
Case & Crown
The case of this timepiece follows suit with the rest of the watch. The 42mm case is pretty big, but large men’s watches are all the rave now, and it looks great on an average man’s wrist.
Like the bezel, the case is made of stainless steel that won’t rust or get damaged too bad over time. To follow the overall theme of the product, the case is also completely black, making this watch fit any style.
The crown at the 3 o’clock position is large enough to allow easy adjustment of time, but not too large as to feel uncomfortable on the wrist.
Strap & Buckle
The strap that comes with the FS4775 is a black stainless steel band that blends perfectly with the rest of the watch, while the buckle is a standard deployment clasp, which is probably the best clasp one can use with this timepiece.
On the wrist, the black strap goes with all skin tones along with most colors, so this watch can be used for almost any occasion.
This product doesn’t have a lot of complications.
It won’t have the chronographs, moon phases, barometers, or altimeters you would find on utility watches, but you will find enough function for everyday use.
For one, the watch is water resistant up to 150m, which means it won’t get damaged when worn in the shower, while washing hands, or even a light swim.
However, it isn’t advisable to use it for water sports and diving. Aside from that, you have the date window, that simply displays what day of the month it is.
There aren’t any more functions after that, but what more would you need from an everyday watch?
A lot can be said about this product, but one would only have to take a quick look to see that it’s a quality piece, and it is. The simple black and white colorway blends in perfectly with any outfit and can be worn at almost any event.
For those looking for a simple, reliable, and fashionable everyday watch, the FS4775 should definitely be up for serious consideration.
