I have to admit.

This Citizen BM8242-08E watch has an attention-grabbing classic appeal.

The luxurious timepiece can be considered midrange when it comes to weight and size.

It is fit for formal and casual events and should fit on the wrist without problems.

The men’s watch looks sophisticated and expensive but is well-priced.

This citizen BM8242-08E review will shed more light on the main features.

Seamless Gold-toned Stainless Steel Case

You can’t fail but notice the seamless construction of the case. It has smooth round edges and no obvious contours or corners. This brings out a polished effect that blends nicely with the brushed finish.

It also creates a nice dissimilarity with the textured leather strap. The diameter is average, measuring 36 mm, and doesn’t look too bulky or too small on the wrist.

The stainless steel construction should be able to withstand scratches, discoloration, oils, grease, and moisture, sweat well. It looks classy courtesy of the gold-tone.

And since its genuine steel and not plated, the probability of the watch rusting or corroding is very low.

Durable Scratch-Resistance Mineral Glass

Citizen is big when it comes to using a mineral crystal for the face. This watch is no exception. You get a slim looking, flat mineral crystal on the watch.

The rounded glass maintains a tight sealing with the case and this contributes to the seamless styling. It also helps to make the unit water reticence to depths up to 30 feet (10 meters).

The glass looks very durable and more tolerant of scratches, dents, dings, and discoloration and soother things. And like mother premium mineral crystal, it is less affected by shatter.

Many consumers and experts say that clarity does remain the same for a long time. It also isn’t prone to glare or reflections.

Eco-Drive Japanese Quartz Movement

This is an analog watch. Unlike most similar pieces that are fully reliable a built-in battery, this one runs via light. It works with both indoor as well as natural light.

The sophisticated system keeps the unit working for long periods. It’s also very reliable and chances of it coming to a complete stop are unlikely.

The Eco-Drive powers the Japanese Quartz Movement. It powers the hand, minute, and seconds hands as well as the date/ calendar functions. The unit ticks always silently and is more energy-efficient.

Maintenance is also simpler in comparison to other options.

Vintage Croco-Embossed Leather Band

The band plays a role in the classic styling. It’s made of leather which is symbolic with the timeless factor. It’s tough, hardwearing, and can put-up with everyday use fairly well.

The band features a crocodile design which gives it the textured look. This goes well with the smooth polished case.

The outer comes in a dark brown color while the much smoother interior has a lighter tone. It’s flexible and feels smooth on the hands.

Wearing and removal are pretty easy. On one end of the strap is a stainless steel buckle for securing the two ends together.

Our Thoughts

This is a nice watch for anyone looking for a high end but affordable watch. It looks elegant and suitable for everyday needs. The vintage styling does stand out just like its solid engineering.

The stainless steel case and tough leather will put-up with tear, wear, ripping, and fading relatively well. It also is accurate and requires minimal attention.
