You know what?
The Bulova 98B203 is a straight to the point, stylish dress watch.
I saw this watch on a coworker during a formal event and was instantly drawn by its simplicity.
The black, white, and silver tones of the watch bring with it an air of class and style, but the simple stick markers do a great job of keeping the watch down to earth.
After seeing this watch I knew I had to learn more.
So I went on the Internet and read articles after articles on the best features and specifications and I’ll share those with you in this Bulova 98B203 review.
- Dress watch in stainless steel featuring black dial with logo under 12 o'clock, notched unidirectional bezel, and link bracelet
- Japanese quartz movement with analog display
- Protective mineral crystal dial window
- Manly and bulky build
- Easy to operate and see time
- Accurate timekeeping
- Steel bracelet might not be ideal for everyone
Simplicity At Its Finest
The minimalist qualities of this watch are by far my favorite characteristic.
The black background of the dial is a great base for the white markers and hands.
This not only gives a great contrast to allow reading the time to be very easy, but it also gives the watch a very classy look.
The way the Bulova logo and Marine Star words are placed right below the 12 o’clock position is very stylish and is something I really enjoy looking at.
Right beside the 3 o’clock mark is a tiny date window that is just the right size for the dial.
On top of the dial is a black unidirectional bezel with white numbers which matches really well with the watch face.
All of these factors make this piece a great dress watch.
A Great Watch For Your Best Suit
Watches are supposed to complement outfits, they aren’t meant to steal the show.
This is why I believe this to be one of the best dress watches in its price range that Bulova can offer.
A lot of companies that put out timepieces like this tend to overdo it by putting too many flashy features.
But not this piece.
The dial measures in at 42mm in diameter, which is a great size for a large men’s watch.
This looks great on an average man’s wrist, especially when paired with the 22mm stainless steel bracelet.
While this will probably pair best with a black suit, I can also see it working with certain navy blue colors as well.
Not Just A Pretty Watch
While this model was designed as an accessory as much as a tool, that doesn’t mean it isn’t functional.
The watch is equipped with a unidirectional bezel, which can be used to measure time, a date window, luminous hands, and 100m water resistance.
Those are basically all the functions you’d need on an everyday basis unless altitude is an essential part of your daily life.
This watch is also very accurate because it uses a Japanese quartz movement, which is celebrated for both its accuracy and practicality.
Customer Scores And Reviews
I wasn’t surprised at all when I went to the review section and Amazon and found all positive reviews.
This is just expected of Bulova at this point.
So many customers pointed out how stylish the watch is, despite its relatively simple design.
One review that stood out came from this customer who was proud to say that this watch has some of the best value in its price range.
And considering its design, its quality, and the features it comes with, this is a statement that would be hard to disagree with.
However, one customer complained about how the watch has a mineral crystal and not a sapphire one.
While sapphire crystals are much stronger, they are also much more expensive, which pretty much explains why Bulova chose to use a mineral one.
I really like this watch.
There aren’t many loud and bright details, so if that’s the type of watch you want, this model may not be for you.
But if you’re like me and enjoy the simpler models, I would highly recommend this timepiece.
